Musanze – 6 September 2024

Twenty-three military personnel from Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Uganda and the Eastern Africa Standby Force Headquarter, attended the Force Headquarters Staff Officers Training of Trainers (FHQ SO ToT) Course at the Rwanda Peace Academy (RPA) from 26 August to 6 September 2024.

The aim of the course was to prepare future trainers for the Standby FHQ Staff Course, for future deployment to AU/EASF mandated Peace Support Operations, at the FHQ level, all in order to maintain and enhance the achieved capability on the command and staff duties of the multinational standby Force Headquarter staff officers. 

The course was officially closed by the Deputy Reserve Force Chief of Staff,Maj Gen Andrew Kagame. The closing ceremony was attended by the EASFJoint Chief of Staff, Brig Gen Stephen Tumwesigye Kashure, the Director of the Rwanda Peace Academy Colonel (Rtd) Jill Rutaremara, the Course Coordinator  Lt Col Ejide Ngenzi (EASF Hq) and the course facilitators.

The two-week course was organized in partnership between the Rwanda Peace Academy, the Eastern Africa Standby Force Secretariat and the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA).
