Yesterday, a delegation of seven high-ranking officials from the Republic of Liberia which is on a study visit in Rwanda visited the Rwanda Peace Academy in Musanze, Northern Province. The delegation that was led by the Minister of State Without Portfolio in the President’s Office Honourable Hadja Mamaka Bility, also included the Assistant Minister of State without Portfolio in the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs, Honourable Varfin Donzo, as well as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative in Liberia, Mr Aliou Mamadou Dia. 

The objective of their visit was to benchmark on provision of training and research programmes relevant to post-conflict challenges in Africa, and the contribution of Rwanda Peace Academy in enhancing national and regional capacity for conflict prevention, conflict management, post-conflict recovery and peacebuilding.

Upon arrival at the Rwanda Peace Academy, the delegation was received by the Director of the Academy, Colonel (Rtd) Jill Rutaremara, who briefed them on “Post – Genocide Reconstruction, Peacebuilding and Peacekeeping: Sharing Rwanda’s Experience and the Role of Rwanda Peace Academy in Enhancing National and Regional Security.” Following the briefing, the two sides discussed potential areas for future collaboration and partnership.
