Today, a delegation composed of seven officials led by the Ambassador of Japan to Rwanda, H.E. Isao Fukushima and the UNDP Resident Representative for Rwanda, Mr. Maxwell Gomera, visited the Rwanda Peace Academy (RPA).

They were received and briefed by the Director of the Rwanda Peace Academy, Col (Rtd) Jill Rutaremara, who also delivered a formal presentation on the “Overview of the RPA and its Partnership with the Government of Japan and UNDP.”

The Ambassador of Japan to Rwanda reiterated the willingness of his government to continue providing financial support for capacity building of regional security sector actors in conflict prevention, management and peacebuilding.

Since 2009, Japan has provided financial support of over 4 million United States Dollars (USD 4, 000,000) to the Rwanda Peace Academy.
