Force Headquarters Staff Officers Training of Trainers Course Starts at the Rwanda Peace Academy

The Force Headquarters Staff Officers Training of Trainers (FHQ SO ToT) Course began today at the Rwanda Peace Academy (RPA) in Musanze and will run up to 6 September 2024.The course was funded by the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA) and is organized in partnership between the Rwanda Peace Academy and the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF).
The two-week course was officially opened by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) General Mubarakh Muganga. Present at the opening ceremony were: the EASF Force Commander, Brig Gen Getachew Ali Mohamed; the Director of the Rwanda Peace Academy Colonel (Rtd) Jill Rutaremara and the course facilitators.
The course is aimed at preparing future trainers for the Standby FHQ Staff Course, for future deployment to AU/EASF mandated Peace Support Operations, at the FHQ level, all in order to maintain and enhance the achieved capability on the command and staff duties of the multinational standby Force Headquarter staff officers.
A total of 23 military personnel from Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, Uganda and the Eastern Africa Standby Force Headquarter are attending the course.
