Integrated Mission Planning Course Underway
The Rwanda Peace Academy (RPA) in partnership with the British Peace Support Team, Africa (BPST-A) and the Eastern Africa Standby Force (EASF) Secretariat is currently conducting a two-week regional course entitled “Integrated Mission Planning (IMP)”.
The course was officially opened by the Joint Chief of Staff at the EASF Planning Element, Maj Gen Charles Rudakubana, on behalf of the EASF Director on 12 March 2018 and will run up to 23 March 2018.
The official opening ceremony was attended by Col. Claus Pedersen, the Technical Adviser at the EASF Secretariat, Maj. Marcel Mbabazi, the Head of Training at RPA and facilitators. A total of 31 military, police and civilian participants from eight (8) Eastern Africa Standby Force member states namely: Comoros, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Sudan and Uganda were present at the opening ceremony.
The objective of the course is to enhance participants’ knowledge and skills on the role and conduct of the Mission planning and integration in a multinational and multidisciplinary environment, in order to enable them to perform fully and effectively as Staff Officers in future EASF deployments.
